What we do

The Plants Market Access Council  (PMAC) is a cross industry government body that works to optimise market access for the Horticultural and Arable (plant)  industries.

PMAC’s agrees the use of cost recovered funds  that the Ministry for Primary industries (MPI) collects from the plant industry from a fee attached to the provision of phytosanitary certificates).These funds are used to support Food Safety and Phytosanitary staff in MPI:

  •      optimise  the system to provide credible assurances for New Zealand’ s products ,
  •      reduce technical hurdles and,
  •      facilitate access to priority markets.

Who we are

PMAC consists of 12 industry members and 3 government members  and 4 service members.  PMAC is supported by an Independent Chair and an Executive Officer .
