CBIS - entry to Australian

CBIS the future scheme for crossing the Australian border

Australia is running down the OPI scheme where New Zealand fruit and vegetables can be pre-cleared in New Zealand before export.

It will be replaced by Compliance Based Inspection Scheme (CBIS). Here importers with a history of compliance at the border will be rewarded with decreased inspection rates and faster entry. The latest information about CBIS can be downloaded here   or viewed on thewww.agriculture.gov.au/import/goods/plant-products/risk-return">http://www.agriculture.gov.au/import/goods/plant-products/risk-return">  DAWR web site

It is important that all exporters to Australia recognise the potential impact of these changes. For the latest communication about the changes and suggestions for streamlining your operations see here
